Grass-Fed Beef Roast

Brandi's Grass-Fed Beef Roast

This is a recipe for my sister-in-love Brandi's slow cooker grass-fed beef roast with vegetables. Although Brandi lives across the country from us, she is very much a part of the BF Farms family and shares our passion for food and nutrition! She sent me this recipe for the blog this past week, which I am grateful for because Brandi is VERY talented in the kitchen. Also, fall is approaching so it's time to order roasts and get prepared for the crockpot season! Here it is:

Ingredients:

  • 1 100% Grass-Fed Beef Roast (any cut)
  • 32 oz. Beef Broth
  • Onion
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Halved Red Potatoes
  • Large Slow Cooker
  • Spices: Salt, Pepper, Parsley, Oregano, Garlic Powder

Preparation:

Salt and Pepper the roast, and sear it on all sides. This helps keep in the natural juices, as well as help keep the roast in tact. If over cooked, it will just shred into pieces. You can definitely skip this step to save time, it's just what I like to do.

Add 32oz of beef broth to a large crockpot (click here to learn how to make your own with our bones)

Add a packet of onion soup mix (optional)

Add vegetables of your choice. I always add onion, celery, and carrots. This time I added halved red potatoes as well.

Sprinkle a little parsley, oregano, and garlic powder over the top before covering. You can season however you'd like.

Cook on low for about 8hrs or on high for about 4-5hrs. The meat should come apart without having to cut.

Happy cooking!
